Responsible Futures (RF) Student Symposium
The first ever Responsible Futures (RF) student symposium takes place 8th-10th April and will feature a range of workshops and sessions supporting skills development for and networking amongst students. The symposium will be delivered by Students Organising for Sustainability, University of the West of England (UWE) and The Students’ Union at UWE. Part of the symposium will feature a session on student presentations, open to a public audience.
On the 9th April, students from different RF Partnerships will present about how they have led and contributed to innovative sustainability education initiatives, with time for questions and answers from the audience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from real-world stories of student leadership.
Topics –
We will witness presentations on student work and leadership on sustainability initiatives within placements, volunteering, coursework, and modules etc.

- Students can also inform a zine e.g., quotes, artwork etc that will be created following the event

The IAU Global Cluster on HESD assist higher education leaders wishing to embed sustainable development concepts and principles in strategic planning, academic and organizational work in order to achieve the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda. The University of Ghana is a distinguished member of IAU-HESD. University of Ghana has subscribed to the SOS-UK Responsible Futures programme. Responsible Futures is a project led by Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK). It is a whole-institution supported change programme and accreditation mark to embed sustainability and climate justice into student learning at universities and colleges. It encourages partnerships between institutions and student unions to create transformative changes in education, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge to address global challenges like the climate crisis
The RF programme is hosted at University of Ghana by the Office of The Vice Chancellor and implemented at the Institute of Applied Science & Technology
